Albino whitetail deer have been in the park area for years. I was lucky to find them so photographically available. There were four albino and five regular does in the group. All photos were taken from the driver’s seat of my van.
Father Hennepin state park is on the south shore of Mille Lacs Lake. Fr. Hennepin may not have stepped on this spot but he was in the Mille Lacs area. He was 39 in 1679 when he set off from New France (Canada) through the Great Lakes and beyond. During our fall trip through Ontario we found Father Hennepin mentioned in the well-done history display at the French River Provincial Park visitor center. The river, a voyageur route, empties into Georgian Bay of Lake Huron.
